Higher exposure to Mandarin at home was associated with a higher composite score across questionnaire categories, but only among older children in the 1-to-2 year band. These findings were not found for English.

Mothers’ own assessments of their sensitive behaviors were not related to observers’ assessments of the mothers’ maternal sensitivity, indicating the need to rely on observational data alongside self-report measures. Mothers’ observed sensitivity scores (through video-ed parent-child interactions) were lower than their self-reports of their own perceived sensitivity.
